Battements d'acier

Krump is an urban dance form born in the working-class neighbourhoods of Los Angeles, a means of liberation, anger and self-assertion.

Here, Krump comes face to face with a place steeped in a strong industrial and working-class history. It encounters not contemporary dance, but contemporary art — installations, images, sound and sculpture — giving rise to a new form of expression: that of young bodies, engaged and in struggle.

Bringing together workshops and performances, the project becomes a living laboratory, an act of remembrance, a collective work, and an artistic and political shock.
